If you subscribe to a thread, you can choose if you want to be notified about new posts or not. And if you look at the online list, you can see a sign next to the threads that you are subscribed to. Also, if you go to the User CP, the new posts in the subscribed threads will be shown.

I don't want an email notification about new posts, but if I look at the online list, I see at once who is reading/posting in my subscribed threads. That's what I use it forOriginally posted by Darknight
