@Lili.. plus syrup and a lemon. But maybe we can think of some more ingredients to add, just for the experiment.

I can't tell you if the recipe is correct, cause I never made it. I just drink it when I go to parties, weddings... But my mom once told me how it was made and it's something like the recipe. I guess that there are more than one recipes...

And yes, it seems to be very tasty, just a little strong, right?

Adventure, YAY!! It's experiment!! First we make original Caipirinha, and add something, maybe some juice again?? .... I think we end up with making carrot rum again...

@Yoko, well...yeah, it's strong...okay...VERY strong! I think that if you drink more than 3 caipirinhas the possibilities of getting drunk are about 95%... Though, it doesn't make it a bad drink, it's sooo yummy!!! (okay...right now I'm really feeling like drinking a caipirinha!!)

@Leontien, I don't know, I'm now searching for some other recipes, and some seem to be stronger than others.

But the ingredients are the most important. We will figure out the ideal percentages for us amigas.

@Lili, so we need also sugar. I wonder what Darknight has to say about that.
The syrup in the other recipe replaces the sugar.

@Leontien, a caipirinha has to have ice, sugar, lime and cachaça (I'm not sure if that's it, I just know it needs an alcoholic drink ), then maybe you can add other ingredients to see if it's good or not...

Ah, there is also a 'caipirão' where we use (in Portugal) Licor Beirão... I just remembered this now

Adventure, Nadine's first recipe says a quater of lime. We can try other citrus fruits, don't you think? And the ingredients you've mentioned are fine to me!!

Nadine, What are caipir&#227;o and Licor Beir&#227;o?? Are these also strong cocktails?

@Yoko, Caipir&#227;o is the same as caipirinha, but instead of using cacha&#231;a, they use Licor Beir&#227;o (an alcoholic drink). I think it's less strong than caipirinha.
I found this about caipir&#227;o: "A Caipir&#227;o is a cocktail made with lime, crushed ice and Licor Beir&#227;o (a very popular portuguese liqueur). It doesn't require sugar. It's a very aromatic version of Capirinha, lighter on alcohol and sugar."

Nadine, I googled "Beir&#227;o" and found it's difficult get it in my country... that cocktail sounded interesting though...
But still we can try Capirinha, your favorite cocktail!
