My boss is bringing in someone else during that time, but I am afraid for my job security. My boss isn't always the most understanding.

I agree with the doc, rest is what you need otherwise you never get the change to get this virus out of your system. I know something about it because some friends of mine had it too. Even if you get enough rest it can take very long.

But can your boss really fire you or make other problems for you? You are sick, you can't help it and if you want to get better you need the rest. You have the doctor behind you.. so can he? *feels concerned*

Well, I doubt he can for that reason...I think there's a law about it. But he can always come up with some other excuse or something. I dunno. I may just be worrying for no reason. (And worrying doesn't do me any good, either. ) So....I don't think he can fire me for medical reasons. Besides, I don't plan on being out very long. I simply can't afford to miss much work. Thank goodness for my week of sick pay that I have.

And yes, the doctor has also told me that it will take a looooong time to get over completely. It' just the way it is, and only rest and lots of fluids will get me better. So....that's just what I have to do. But I really don't want to be a whiner and complain about it whenever I am on da hood, so I think I will not complain about it. Besides, everything should work out fine, anyway. Right!?

Yes you should stop worrying about might he could do or what might could happen. Do what is best for you and take your one week payed rest.
Yes everything should work out fine for you, no need to worry, you already said it yourself, worrying is defenitive not going to help, so why should you.
