I'm teaching 5th grade math and science. I actually got my certification almost 3 years ago, but I just now got hired--so this is my first year.

Well the teacher situation in England is rubbish... I finished a year ago, but jobs are so hard to come by, secondary schools crying out for them though (11 - 16) but that's no good for me

You should see it, i love Steve Martin, although it's a pretty old one, 1980's I think

I couldn't do Language Arts--it takes a lot more work for the teachers! Besides, I love both math and science, and I enjoy teaching them.

There's a lot of talk about how we're having a teacher shortage in America, but I sure haven't noticed! If that were true, I wouldn't have had to wait so long to get a job. And I'm with you as far as secondary--the little kids (under 7 years old) scare me, and the big kids (older than 12) scare me! I'm right at home in 5th grade.

I like Steve Martin, too... I heart The Jerk!
