I have been to Iceland and I know they have surnames that are a family inherited. The ones with -dottir at the end mean they are ladies
dottir= dughter
The ones with -son are men
son=son
Sooo... Gunnlaug Bjarnadottir for example has a first name Gunnlaug and a surname Bjarnadottir (Daughter of Bjarni).
