Elni, I'm sorry to hear that. I hate that kind of hackers and spammers!! But I'm sorry that I can't help you coz I'm not a computer person.. There're some mods who know about computer and internet connection thingies very well. If you have a problem again, I think they can give you a good advice.
It's really nice to see you the good members like you here in GH, you know there're some members who isn't really nice..

Hi everybody,

I just read the story about the person stealing bandwidth and I was curious if you had any sort of protection such as a WEP key? There should be a way to enable that on most wireless devices. I am not familiar with every brand, but you might want to check on the security options on the device you are using.

I know some of the ppl in here are rude and I read their post about complaining for silly things like the wogger game....I don't understand them. Even if they ask for help they don't ask nicely. As mod can't u worn them or something?

@ jack: I haven't enable the wireless opion, but whenever I c the warning that my IP is interactiong with another system or network, sometiems at my connection setting I c my LAN connection and a wireless one. I try to delete the wireless but I can't as long as I am connected with the Internet.
The problem comes when I disconnect to solve the problem. I go to connection settings and the wireless is not there. I don't understand what is happening. Then I connect again and the wireless is there. I dodn't have that problem for quite long time now

As mods, we sometimes send warnings or reminders by PM to the members who act badly. It's really up to them if they change their behavior.

I think u should create like a hero stickman that goes at the members PMs and clean their crimes like an animation character that lectures the badly behavior No that would be funny

Elni, are you on a laptop or a desktop, and what device are you using to connect to the internet? Most devices today have some form of built in encryption, so it might help to look at the user manual for the device you are using.

Elni, hmm That would be a nice idea.. Those who don't like reading rules might see an animations. Only a problem is that WHO's gonna create that animation..

jack, Woooow you know about computer very well... No wonder why you're chosen as a mod. You should check "Problems" thread sometimes! There sometimes has posts that ask for help on computer problems.

I am a certified technician, but I never actually made a career out of it. I don't want to take something I enjoy doing and turn it into work .

I don't know much of the technology of PCs. I am connected with a LAN connection through cable. I have a desktop. Can you please tell me how I can check wherether or not I can disconnect the wireless choice. I am sure I haven't activate it because as I said I am connected through a cable (if u meen that) I am using the Bullguard security system (that I believe is the best I had used). Do you have to suggest any better security?

@lili: I could create it for you but I am very bad with codes and stuff But if in the future I learn about animation I'll create it for u

Connecting to the internet through a cable shoudn't allow anybody else access. Are you using windows, and if so which version?

jack I am using windows xp and mostly I use firefox browser. I don't know if the warning message comes from a trojan or hacker attack, but i scann my computer everyday and sometimes 2 or 3 times per day just to be sure
