Actually, I think my aunt and uncle's dog is pregnant... I might get one of their babies. See, that's another reason I can't get another kind of dog--everyone on my mom's side of the family has at least one, and nothing else--I'd be breaking tradition. But I'll be sure to keep an eye out at the shelters, just in case.

@Lilli--"profess" has several meanings; the way I was using it just means 'to state freely.'

Oh, no... she's spayed. Since dachshunds are prone to back problems anyway, I couldn't live with myself if I bred her and she got hurt because of me. And I also don't see the point in bringing more puppies into the world when there are so many who need homes. She's purebred (it just worked out that way--I don't care whether my dog has papers or not, I love her regardless), and I could potentially make a lot of money if I'd decided to breed her, I just couldn't do that.

Ah, thats very wise of you I have to get my st Bernard male castrated (sounds horrible) soon... I don't want to spaye my female german shepherd, that won't do her charachter much good... She's a real..... well the thing you call a female dog And that will only get worse if she would be spayed. I had to choose, I don't want puppies (for the same reason) And I don't think it's fair to her that she would have to give birth to puppies with st bernard heads
