The creation of the Juke, which led to the "classic juke-box"

Along time ago, before records were sold everywhere, there were ol roadhouse bars that offered music (live bands, if you will). In the southern US people, men mainly, would travel from bar to bar playing music, for the price of room and board....and a few drinks. These travelers were known as jukes. Now many of them were blacks that play blues that was adapted from songs they would sing on plantations.......Anyway, the juke-box was created to replace live music in a bar, and to replace the jukes.
