Whooo nice quiet Sunday here today...!

Anyone want to come and help me decide on a laptop.. ? XP Pro or Vista? arrrrrghhhhh!

Why definitely Vista? My problem is that I have a lot of programming programs (VB 6, VB.NET 2000 (I think), VC++ (that one is old) and also have Office 2003-- I've heard that Vista isn't exactly compatible with many programs out there and probably will never be. I'm lucky I got the .NET suite on XP Home.

down the line a new desktop is in the works too *sigh*... everything I own is old....

Dont go with vista, right now vista has so many problems with games that if you like to play games go with xp because vista doesnt allow or lags you out of alot of games even online games!

Xp in some cases is even faster! so untill they sort out whats wrong with vista stick with xp

I have vista. I think it was a big mistake getting it. I miss the XP. I agree with heart that it has many compatability issues with all sorts of stuff. I find it quite frustrating. It's also weird in the way it opperates. I miss my comfort zone of the old ways I'm used to. I hope this info helps.

Hello! I am like never on! I wonder why??? I am on the computer enough... Anywho, I haven't done anything interesting in forverer. I made major edits to my book... Hee hee. I went on a trip back to PA. I am not sure if I told you guys about Polgara dying... If I didn't, I just did!

Well, I am gonna be around for awhile, while I do some school, but I am gonna get a shower... BBL!

Oh BTW: I got a new laptop for my B-day and it has Vista and I don't have any problems with it. All the problems I do have are due to my memory (half a GB when my computer can hold 4!). I haven't played many online games recently (actually not any at all since X-mas break, I suck at point-n-click and there are no good adventures I haven't done, of topic so I don't know how it would operate, but the ones I did, loaded pretty fast (for half a GB) and played fine. I really like Vista (the only thing I don't like is that not all the stuff I download has a Vista upgrade... Hasn't effected me too much [I shouldn't waste time playing games I never finish anyway] except for one thing, for school... AND my fave subject!). Alright, I am done rambling on and on and on and on... I really could go on for hours.... But I'll shut up... Hee hee

I've heard both sides of the Vista pros/cons.. my sister has Vista on their desktop computer. Its okay.. probably good enough for the casual user like their family is for the most part. The older niece isn't old enough to really get into it- she's 11 but doesn't seem to really care all that much for online stuff. The compatibility issues with heavy duty programs that I use is what worries me (Photo Shop, the programming ones I mentioned... I do a LOT of Online Riddling as many of you know lol) I had thought of going with Vista on one computer and XP Pro on another.. I currently have XP Home on the desktop...

Well, I have heard so much bad about Vista, and I'm really not sure if I had the opportunity to get a new pc if I would choose Vista, I think at the moment I would stick to XP.

Oh, to have both is of course the best solution
But that doesn't make you solve the riddles any better I'm afraid
