Oh, wow! I've never seen a kayak that you sit on, instead of in. That would probably freak me out. And I'd probably be cool going on one in a lake. That would be great fun, I think. I have been in a canoe. And yeah, I ALWAYS wear a life jacket if I'm on a boat.

LOL- no it isn't bad..... In fact I was in Santa Cruz recently and noticed people are riding waves with Kayaks. Have you seen this? Btw- I like to do both, lake and rivers. Rivers are fun because you can start by going against the current and then "haul-you-know-what" on the way down stream.

It's funny that we are using the "surfer" terms to describe things. Cause we're Californian, and the Ocean is in our backyard right

Really? OMB! I've never seen anyone riding waves on Kayaks. We do get some surfers out on our beaches, but it's so dang cold, that's about it. I know some people Kayak one of the two main rivers we have here. One is pretty dangerous though.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the speed when going with the current! I went white water rafting when I was a kid with my family down the Snake River in Idaho. So fun! I was too young to realize I should be scared.

I think our chances with sharks are better in that, than a surfboard. Did you see that there have been two attacks in the last week, and one fatal? Sharks are a wee bit scary if you ask me, or anyone for that matter. I bet you would have fun too. It really takes minimal effort to ride these things. Serious, we'll have to plan a GH day out. I know thats silly!

Yeah, I read about the shark attacks... Down in San Diego, right? The closed 8 miles of beach. Said it was a great white, they think. Poor guy. Yeah, I won't actually swim in the ocean. We have too many undertows, sleeper waves, and whatnot. Our beaches just aren't safe for someone like me. One of our beaches here, has warnings that it's the "most dangerous beach in California - Do Not turn your back on the ocean." Cuz of sleeper waves. And sharks, too!!

Yeah, I've always said we need to plan a GH party!!! We could plan a GH canoe/kayak day on the lake!! *pictures a cat on a kayak *

Btw- Did you know that Jerry Garcia's (from the Greatful Dead) dad was swept away in Santa Cruz from a sleeper wave when Jerry was 8 and was never found.
