Escape: yeah so far up to our flood gates are completely covered right now, which is a lot under water, but it's been said that a lot of the levees have been fixed(in MO) so now that should help the water level go down. Oh wouldn't that be a killer!

lol I mean we have these flood gates that come up to the top of the hills to keep the water out and the water is just under the top of them heres some pic to help explain the water level lol to the right where the trees go across and theres a opening thats one of the flood gates

Thanks for explaining about the flood gates. Wow...

And I always forget how many brick buildings are in Missouri. We have very few here, because I think any new buildings have to be made to withstand some earthquakes...and bricks aren't good for that.

yeah I still can't believe it's as bad as it is lol yeah just about all of downtown buildings are made of brick and quite a few of the homes are too lol yeah I don't think they would make it though a earthquake

Yeah, I was sad to read that more rain is expected for several of the flood areas.

LOL..My first trip to Missouri after mom moved out there, that was one of the first things I noticed. All the brick buildings! It was so lovely though. I thought they looked great! You just don't see that kind of architecture here...except in "older" areas.

lol yeah only bad thing is that a lot of the buildings are just left to rot, there are so many nice brick buildings that could easily be fixed but no one whats to do it yeah, it's hard to find any of the brick structures anymore they are all made of steel now

Really? Aw...that's a shame. Cuz if they could be restored, it would be great! But I suppose, in order to do that, you have to have someone with lots of money who things it's a great investment... Or........we could have Old Biker come out to the US and do it! LOL. He works with brick laying. And he could take his bike on a roadtrip across the US.

lol I think that would be a nice little trip for him but he would need a little bit of money to keep those tires pumped up lol
