@Duckie.....Yeah, if you're deaf, subtitles are a must. Too bad they don't offer showtimes when you could see movies in the theater with subtitles. Then you'd still get to see it on the big screen.
Some places do do that.. they use what's called Open captions. Captions are on the movie but EVERYBODY sees them. The movie place has to arrange to get that particular film then set up a specific time to show it. I've done this before. Downside is that the deaf person can't just go to the movies on a whim.. have to plan around when the showings are (usually only once a month and you are constrained to one movie)
LOL.....poor you, Duckie.
Hehe....Okay!! I'm heading to the EAST COAST, then. LOL That woman was just mean. She'll always be known as dent lady now.
LMAO. All done over with now. She actually showed up.. and proceeded to park in the same spot that started all this stupid mess. I'm really glad I did the money order.. I only met her once before but she seemed taller this time (heels maybe no idea). At least she was smart and wrote a letter stating that I've fulfilled my obligation. So she can't come back and demand any more money (as it was an estimate cost apparently.
Still don't know what the big deal was...I couldn't see the dent form where I was standing either lol. But then some people are vain about cars I gues.. Antique cars over 30 years old I cand understand but this car was a 1999 one!!! older than MINE!
Ooh!! That would be great! I have a friend who isn't deaf, but is going to school to be an interpreter. And I have had 2 American sign language classes.
Ohh! interpreter eh? There's a severe shortage of sigh language interpreters Depending on what 'field' the interpreter goes into the pay scale varies.. plus there's the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome.. but if one really loves the work they should do it. Man..kind of miss the deaf community.. I don't think there is one here where I live right now...
Night Duckie!! *pulls up the blanket and tucks Duckie in* Too bad my mom isn't around to tuck ya in.
Aww thankie. I had to drag my blankie through six pages of chat (that's set on 40 posts per page on my settings)... that's.. 240 posts already in one day.. you guys natter a lot! lol
*burrows under to blankie and debates on working on new laptop*
