How to Be a Pirate Girl
New Pirate is a great new subculture. Find out how to join it.

Wear a lot of bandanas! Especially ones with skull and crossbones designs and red and black ones. When not wearing a bandana, make your hair a bit messy. You can also use an eye patch; get one at your local costume store.
White, ivory, beige, cream and tan peasant shirts are great for the look. Skull t-shirts are also great. Plain black, white or beige shirts with cut-off sleeves are a great addition to your wardrobe. Brightly colored long sleeve button ups are piratey. Just make sure they are loose, not stiff like a shirt a corporate executive might wear to the office. And make sure you leave all of it untucked but the very front, creating a sagging look (regardless of how it's finished) and unbutton the top few buttons.
Capris, capris, capris. These are so incredibly piratey if they have the right knicker-looking characteristics! Avoid denim and other recent additions in fabrics. Stick to hemp, cotton, wool and other natural fabrics. Keep them in brown and natural colors. It's a good idea to tear of the hem to make them look a bit more tough, but also keep them baggy, because they would have been real knickers, stolen from men. If you live in a cooler climate, you should probably wear long, flowing pants in the winter. Avoid skirts.
Wear "gold" jewelry. Costume jewelry is perfect for this--what would you have pilfered from another ship?
Hair, Skin & Makeup
If you have dark skin, then dreadlocks are good. Black, light brown, dirty blond and red are all great, but your natural shade will work too. If the dreadlock thing doesn't work for you, braiding your hair into a zillion tiny braids can achieve a similar effect. (This can be done at a hair salon, with an electric hair-braider, or, if you have a very patient friend with nimble fingers, that will work too)
If you have fair, beige, or golden skin, consider getting a tan.
Keeping your hands and feet rough and callused is always important. Walk barefoot to improve this.
When it comes to eyeshadow, stick to earth tones, or don't wear any. Mascara is okay, as long as it's black or brown. The same goes for eyeliner.
Make your lips a shade of red, flesh colored, a natural color or no color. Keep the shine to a minimum if any. Avoid lipliner. You don't have to wear lipstick or gloss at all.
Most pirates didn't wear nail polish, but if you feel naked without it, wear a clear or flesh toned coat. Keep your nails about the length of a well-groomed guy's nails. Let the dirt built up underneath!
A warm blush thats a shade or two darker than you natural skin tone should be swept under your cheekbones to make them stick out.
Behavior
To complement your pirate looks, you need to have a pirate personality and have pirate hobbies. Be funny and witty as much as possible. Act tough and flirt, like you're popular. Pirates are always somewhat arrogant. Have fun boating. Fencing is also great. You can play cards and dice, but don't use real money, use "pieces of eight" (pirate currency). Practice lock picking.
Strut like you are absolutely arrogant but not too popular. Keep your head up high, but don't stick your nose in the air. Stomp a little, but go quickly. Keep in mind that pirates tended to remain inebriated for long periods of time, so you may want to wobble a bit, as well.
Gesture a lot, and talk with your hands. On a ship, most of the time, a person couldn't get her point across with just words.
Talk Like a Pirate!
Pirate girls come in all shapes and sizes. The important thing is that their bodies are their own, t'do with as they please (*cough* *cough*), an' pity the scurvy dog who tries t' encroach on a pirate girl's booty without her permission. Be proud, be strong, an' flaunt yer pirattitude!
When it comes to the one you love, never hit, kick or insult them. Respect them deeply, but don't baby them like they're not self-sufficient. You can have more than one, just don't let 'em know!
Be conscientious of your appearance.
No, this does not mean you need to look like a stunning, blonde Barbie doll. Not every guy wants a plastic doll. You don’t need to be drop dead gorgeous. Be sure that you shower one a month and clean yourself weekly. You should also wear deodorant, shave frequently, clean you ears, brush your teeth, and you do NOT paint your nails. Also, try to wear your hair in a style that makes you feel like a pirate. Being conscientious of your appearance also means you have to have some level of fashion sense, so dont do that. You don’t need to have millions of expensive clothes to look cute because your a pirate girl and some simple fashions never go out of style.
Do NOT go overboard or you’ll get wet. Also, do wear clothes that reveal too much, most guys like breasts and it will attract other male attention. Sometimes coverup, mascara, eyeliner, and lipgloss are too much and make you look like a slut. But don’t get too caught up in your appearance, there are plenty more things you need to know.
Achieve the Perfect Personality.
Whenever you talk to your special guy think of the three S’s: Sweetness, Sexiness and Smarts. Sweetness comes with vulnerability, shyness and kindness. These three factors are especially important because they are what make your hottie feel especially masculine. To act vulnerable and shy try tucking your hair behind your ears, smiling charmingly and batting your eyelashes. Or you could pull your (long) sleeves over your hands and hold on with your thumbs. Then straighten your arms out (downward) and maybe bite your lower lip and raise your eyebrows.
Act Right
There are multiple ways to act flirty, here are some of the best suggestions:
Compliments- Be sure to compliment them on things that are true. Sometimes people will make up compliments just to talk to someone, but that is the total wrong thing to do. You really should compliment on things you really like, so you sound more sincere naturally.
Intense Aye-The intense Aye is a trick that pirates spend years perfecting. You must give your hottie an intense stare that is both sexy and domminait at the same time. You should try practicing the look in the mirror, and if completed correctly you should feel as sexy as a Priate girl can be.
Eyelash Batting- This trick is one of the oddest tricks known to man. It gives you a sweet and wired factor, which guys love because it make themselves feel powerful.
Hair Flip and Twirl- If you want to flip your hair casually over your shoulder, twist it and then untwist it, tuck it behind your ears or run your hands through it then why not go for it.
Soft Giggle and Smile-According to polls, a laugh and a smile are not the sexiest things a a pirate girl can wear. If you perfect your smile and laugh to be seductive and sweet you will find your not acting like a pirate. Practice forcing a natural snarl and grunt, it can help yee through awkward situations.
Magic Touch- You can learn to brush a guy in such a way that you send tingles up and down his spine. Casually tap him while grunting, rest your head on his shoulder if you’re tired and hold his hand when you're nervous; it will give him a sense of manliness and you a touch sweetie-pie, no pun intended.
Approach him and start a conversation, but don't make it too obvious that you like him. If he approaches you, look him in the eyes as a sign of affection and confidence.
Try to touch him whenever and where ever you can, on his arm or wherever else. Do make it too obvious.
Just barely touch his left shoulder as you reach for something or whisper into his left ear. the left side is linked with the right brain,which is more in tune with emotions.
Play with your hair or clothing offten.
Once you've got his attention, look him in the eyes and smile. If he smiles back, slowly look down, and repeat. Guys like girls who can show off their smile.
Don't make it too obvious when he's around his friends, unless you know that he likes you.
