If by 'gall' you mean gall bladder, it isn't. Not a balloon either.

In this picture, there is a silvery thing under it... best I can guess is it's just propped on it (as a stand) for the photo. It is not part of the object (for light).

I meant gall yes, but not gallbladder. But a gall from a plant made by an insect.

Possibly.. In any event it's good to know I am not the only one, and it's thus not necessarily on my end.

That would have been my next question if it was likely if someone of us had ever had seen it with our own eyes. So instead I would like to ask: How likely is it that we ever heard of its existence?

@venture: Fair to say that MOST people haven't seen this. Depending on how old you are, pretty likely you know it exists.
