Perhaps it's the lift that requires the ticket?

If i could find the glass elevator, i won't be needing a golden ticket. It will take me anywhere including his hotel room.

I didn't know that Willy Wonka stays in this hotel, if you run into him send him to room 667. I could go for some chocolate right now.

I somewhat regret choosing floor 950. Unless there's an imaginary lift that nobody has told me about yet...?

I should mention this happened in 1984, things were different....

They also invited us to dinner that night. We might have been drunk but we knew to behave & did, we all sat around talking & had a nice dinner.

Then I noticed a stack of 45s, so I started looking at them. One catches my eye: "Hound Dog" by Elvis Presley. I quickly (as quickly as my drunken fingers could manage) turned it over & yep, there it was "Don't Be Cruel", recorded on Sun Records

There were several other rare records, but the other one I remember was the 45 of "They're Coming To Take Me Away", the one that was pressed & printed in reverse on the B-side.

So bein' a nice guy, I say to the lady "Do you know what these are worth?"

"No" she says "I just thought they were old records"

So I gave her an estimate & she was amazed

The band I was in got snowed in at a small ski lodge once, it was Sunday & all the guests had left the day before. The owners were very nice people & kindly opened the bar for us to hang out, shoot pool, etc...

They made the mistake of tellin' us we could help ourselves to the booze
