I'm upset, and I haven't got anyone I can tell. I'm going to leave the door open wide.

Thanks... no thanks...
I'm putting my thoughts down day-by-day in a little text document. It's helping. Now I can look back and remind myself of things come and gone, how I used to be. Now I've got a place to let all of my words out... so that they're not boiling up inside of me. It helps when I'm angry. It helps when I'm depressed. It helps when I'm so tired that I think that I'm depressed. I'm not sure if it will help when I don't feel anything at all, but it's been a while, and hopefully I won't come to that again.Last edited by Yorick; 08-27-2012, 08:20:48.

Hi Yorick!
You know you may always talk with me. Shoot me a PM, or message me so I can give you my contact info for Facebook (where I am fairly frequently). I'm more than happy to lend an ear or give advice (if you want it, otherwise, I can just listen). Just remember life really is like a roller coaster with its ups and its downs. Just know that although things can seem dismal, bleak, and a bit hopeless at times, that they will also once again be happy, fun, cheery, and full of life and hope.
I'm really glad you're keeping a diary. You're good with words and hopefully it helps you express your emotions as keeping them bottled up inside isn't the ideal way to handle them. Art might be another good outlet for you. You can always seek out a counselor or a support group if you need as well.
But in the meantime, if you need an ear, please let me know and I will be there for ya.
Keep your head up.

Having dealt with bouts of depression during my life, you have my utmost sympathies Yorick.
My band just broke up.3 years of work with not much to show for it,however we may still record together but we'll never play a live gig again.
My wife said to me after our last gig "You come home pissed off or embarrassed after every gig,you need to find another band". It was like she'd hit the Main Power switch, everything lit up & came into focus. Wasn't 2 weeks later that it all fell apart & I really do feel better not havin' to deal with it anymore.
Anybody lookin' for a good, experienced drummer?
of course there's a lot more to the story, but ain't gonna bore y'all with it"If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a man and a dog"

Gracias EG,I've been runnin' an ad on CL the last 2-3 weeks, alerted all my musician colleagues on FB & I'm gonna hit a few jam sessions to make a nuisance of myself
I auditioned with a band 2 nites ago,I'd heard of them & one of the guys had seen me play at the local saloon. Great guys,we got along well but the music just didn't click.
I ain't had to look for a drummer gig in a long time, things are different now...."If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a man and a dog"

I appreciated the concern you guys. I've been feeling quite a bit better actually. I've made some adjustments in my day-to-day life; I've been spending less time in my hot and cramped room which I share with my brother and usually one to two guests daily. I've finally gotten back to drawing, which has really done a lot to improve my mood, being as I was on an artistic-block-induced drawing hiatus for over half a year. My days seem more normal now. I don't have as much pent-up inside. I'm a little better.
Good luck with finding a new group Freddie, and thanks for all the sympathies.
