Anyway, here's the latest at the moment on Hurricane Gustav headed for the USA Gulf coast almost exactly 3 years after Hurricane Katrina. And the projected path of this Category 4 hurricane is to hit New Orleans, or the surrounding area...again. It's already done so much damage to Cuba and other areas in the Caribbean.
New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin ordered a mandatory evacuation of the city beginning 8 a.m. Sunday but urged residents to consider escaping "the mother of all storms" before then.
i read on another site if it turns into a catagory 5 that new orleans will be gone
cause they rushed to get the leveys fixed after katrina and inspecters say they dont know if they could hold through a cat.3
They have a LOT of spirit in Louisiana...whatever happens to them, they will get right back up...that's the attitude there. However, the loss of a city like New Orleans? That would be a crushing blow to hope. That's the unique thing about that place, they've always got hope...
They issued a tornado warning in Monroe County, but yeah, there are usually very few deaths in Florida hurricanes. Just LOTS of financial damage. I don't know if you saw the video footage of the kite-flying kid who got smacked into the building, but he's actually okay.
