Okay, I must be a real dunce. I can't find a wrench anywhere. I've been in one house and looked at another that seems to be nobody's that I can't get into. There are other houses, but I can't get near them. All I keep doing is going back and forth between the tree (or whatever it is) where I got the spade and, I'm guessing, a bridge that I can't get onto. HELP!!!!

Okay, I posted this yesterday, but it never posted. The arrows at the top of the bridge don't seem to do anything. I click the arrow, go down, and end up in the same houses I was in before. Is there something else I need to do to get the arrows to work? I've been in the room that asks for a code, but I can't find the code anywhere.

It seems that you get confused because of the similar looking houses. When you are on the bridge, you can turn into 4 directions as the bridge is like a cross. So you can visit 4 houses and each has a puzzle to solve. And you find some clues at the houses somewhere.

But that's not what's happening. I go into the houses - correction, into one house - and I get the same puzzle/clue I've already got and the other house is Nobody's house. It isn't that they all look the same, it's that I can't get to other houses. I click the arrows and they jump around the screen, but the room in front of me never moves or changes, and when I go down off of the bridge I'm in Nobody's house and the house that has the crosses and circles on the wall. Should I uninstall and reinstall? Is there something wrong with my program or am I missing something?

I really have no idea. There are lot of people who have played it without problems, so it should run properly (but of course as for every game there can be a loading problem).
If you say that the arrows "jump around" then this is a sign for me that it works, as their positions vary a little bit for the houses.
Have you tried it systematically? E.g. clicking the right arrow only once and then click on the house? When you leave the house again you should face the opposite house, so there is no need to click the arrow, just walk forward.
If you checked really systematically and it didn't work: Did you restart the game?

Should have seen a clue on one of the lamps before you could leave the area.

Yes, this was it - similar at least (that's why I said in the first post to write everything down that might be important as you can't go back to the area as soon as the light is lit)
