Sammy: Ok, that doesn't make sense. You said on page 8 that "the fork is somewhere from the last two parter to segment 42", yet in your last post you say its not in those segments.
my two posts are not contradicting each other, you've just perceived that they are lol i know that doesnt really help but i have almost came out and told you where to look now
Ok, so I guess it could be a second answer to 86 and 22, since that's the beginning of the range, but I can't think of any other way to add the numbers together. Well, I did try concatenation, but that doesn't work. Also, I don't get what that has to do with not seeing something, theres nothing else on the screen.

I have to admit this one is quite hard, I only managed to figure it out after a couple of nice hints from jack via PM. I also have to say that although Sammy's posts didn't make sense at first, he is in fact right, you're limiting yourself way too much. You're getting closer though, now you just have to focus on what can not be seen.
And it might help you to check out the SiMPLE forums, Mr. Logic gave a big hint, which narrows the possible segments down quite a bit.

I have even lost two hours of sleep looking at this.
If someone can at least give me a clear indication (via PM) of in which segment I have to look, i may be saved from dementia. Or not. I don't know.
Well, after a lot of help, I'm finally looking at thje right segment. And still can't find an alternate answer. Any new hints? I don't understand how "to look for something that can't be seen"
Anyway, thanks to everyone who is helping.

Is there really another answer to the question of the segment with the split? I don't find any other possibility. And it would have nothing to do with "something that can't be seen".
Anybody know how to manipulate the images? I now have 50 bitmap files on my desktop from screen captures, and I still haven't found the clue!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...................
You don't need any image manipulation, just good eyes.
Edit: Now I'm stuck on 95
There's a grid of letters and a grille to put over them, presumably to show which letters to use in the grid like in 98, but doing that gets me gibberish no matter whether the grille is turned upside-down or not, or whether I read vertically or horizontally.
