Found the same prob with the hook and once combined... you have to choose the correct combined hook to get the item. (I had 3 ) Great game! Loved it.

but not anymore. I can't recall I used it, but maybe I forgot where I used it.

Well, I left to room automatically after Suzy told me that I had to find key and when I went back to room with the safe, the tree was gone. But it isn't important because you don't have to use the tree anymore in that point of the game.
