Make sure you do everything you need to (t.v. on, move everything, etc.) And make sure to use darker key.

I too saved the Pink kitty and I managed to do it without help. (I read through posts only once I'd done it!)
I must say that pink is not my fav col, but this "cute" kitty doesn't compete with my fav (albeit pink!) kitty, who's name I don't think I can put in here, so I'll just say that it's a saggy old cloth cat from kids UK TV in the '60's!
The kitty at the top of the web page is really cute though!

According to the walkthrough:

Use scissors on left edge of the picture on the wall, then click the edge of the picture to take it off. A safe will be revealed.
