I broke down the fishing rod and

used the thing that looks like a part of a key with the hook and line.

Got out, eventually. A difficul game, at least for me, but a great one too!

Walkthrough

First scene (fireplace)


take knife from under the carpet (right edge)
take two envelope from mantelpiece and open them with knife (tip of knife)
take cloth from easy chair

go right (desk)


take firewood, use knife on it
take half-note from desk (under lamp)
use tip of knife in flower pot (earth) to get key
use key in left side of desk, get top of hammer and bottom half-note
join the notes

go right (bed)


take gun from behind curtains
open Veritas box, take out photo and mirror
notice violet 4 in picture above bed
use knife on pillow and take key
lift carpet (left corner) and notice yellow 3

go right (record player)


take fishing rod
use knife on it three times to get stick, hook and line
join stick and hammer top to get hammer

go back to desk


fire gun at antler, take flag
use pillow key on right side of desk, take pliers and round thingy
join thingy with hook and line

kitchen


use hook construction on door left side of record player(kitchen)
enter
take grey and red fish
use hammer on lock of cupboard
notice pink 5
take tumbler from left side and sugar bowl from right side
use hammer on back wall of cupboard and take key
use key on other cupboard
take glass (top shelf) and three bottles (top, middle and bottom shelves)
take matches from table
use knife on ice bucket, take ice
use tumbler on ice bucket to fill it (you can see the cubes)
take picture from wall
take chair

go back to fireplace


give red fish to cat, take note out of basket
zoom in on books
notice orange 7
look at combined list - the names are characters out of the books (changes from game to game), google them and push the books in the right order - a panel below will open, zoom out and take iron and scroll
put firewood in fireplace, put pink letter on top, light with matches
hold pliers into the fire to take out a coal, put coal in iron, iron cloth
hold scroll into fire until it turns dark (you can then see a mojito recipe on it)

go back to the bed


use knife on bottom right corner of small picture, then use pliers to peel it off, a grid with ingredients is revealed
have a look at the back of the photo - two columns with five drawings are shown
take a look at blue square paper - it says take first picture as it is, then turn it 90° and add it to the first
if you do this with the symbols on the back of the photo, erasing all overlapping lines, you will get five numbers - the numbers for the door to the balcony

take gren and yellow lemon
take a half pink note from floor (right side)
take grey square from floor (left side)
use matches on cigar in ashtray
put tumbler on table
zoom in on box - password is surname of Hemingway’s wife
take key from box
leave and come back
you can now take the ashtray (with ash) and the tumbler (with water)

go back to desk


put ironed cloth in window frame (lines have to be on top left)

go to record player

hang picture frame on nail near door
use key on right door

beach


take mint leaves (left side)
zoom in on book, notice brown 6, notice time (16:45), zoom out
click on dark patch of sand behind deck chair, solve sudoku, put grey square from balcony on top of sudoku, notice the letters
put kitchen chair under palm tree, zoom in on tree, notice red 1,
take second half of pink paper (top right side of stem), join the two halves

go to the bed

use grey square from balcony on grid above clock, notice order of ingredients, compare them to sudoku letters and change the pictures on the scroll accordingly (if correct pictures will lock)
zoom in on clock, set it to 4:45 (pm), it opens take photo out of clock
notice spot marked with an X

go back to beach

dig with your knife at the indicated spot from photo
there go the coloured numbers, still missing two…

back to kitchen

empty ashtray in bucket, notice grey 8 on bottom of ashtray
mix a mojito:
put glass on table and add the ingredients in the right order, given on the scroll (HEMINGWAY), the glass then shows a dark green 9

back to beach

enter all the numbers on the coloured wheels, when it opens
take the coloured flags and put them on the lines of the boat
look at pink note with semaphore code, translate it,
look at flag from antler - shift semaphore letters one backward to get six colours
change colours on boat accordingly (first bottom left, then go clockwise)
take picture frame

back to desk

put frame on antler, put mirror in it, notice morse code, translate

to the beach (last time)

enter morse code (834) on box dials, get key
use key on boat and sail away

Well, made lots of progress and used some things I found and others I'm still playing with. Need to hit the hay though. So I'm wishing I had made better notes along the way. Maybe try to get an early start on this tomorrow. I'm enjoying it!!
