Basically, the numbers you get from pouring metal dust on the flat metal plate and the numbers you get from lighting the candle and putting it under the lamp shade.

Actually, you just died. Though you do put medals in the door, there is a particular order to which ones you place in the slot. To find out the order, you have to assemble the doll, which you'll find parts to by doing the puzzles throughout the game.
