I am missing three pieces and would just like to finish it. I know it has nothing to do with getting out.

fireplace, with the hook (1)
under green bottle (1)
under the tablecloth (1)
under the bed (1) (May not have found this one, but I think i did.
under the pillow (1)
under mattress (1)
in drawers (2)
in the hat (1)
on the log (2)
next to the log (1)
in each present (7)
under last present (1)
from the cat's mouth (1)
from santa in the clock (1)
under the rug (2)
under the bucket (1)
on the ski (I only found one, how do you find the other?)
in the painting (2)
may have gotten one from the deer, not sure. if so, how? (1)
window sill (1)
chair, after using axe (1)
under the rocking chair (1)
in the lamp (1)
the cake (1)

any more? I am missing two pieces.
EDIT: I can't seem to zoom in on the bottom of the tree... how do you do that?

and how in the world do you get out of this place. I have everything (I think) and still cant.

got out with one puzzle piece missing.
(after 20 tries gave up on little clock santa , that fat guy was too fast for me )

I'm back and have started over after some sleep and chores - meant to come sooner as I know I've lots to do here too! may resort to clues today.

21 puzzle pieces and black belt. next the lighter - tried to get it earlier. hmm.. needs two tries?

Had to get dinner in the oven. Can't remember how I got the key last night! My notes are a mess. Going to "cheat" and look for a clue in the posts.

well, I got the piece from:

1.the chair (after using the axe on it)
2.the cake
3. the table (under the cloth)
4. the stocking on the fire-place
5. the deer (after putting the star on its head)
6. the window sill
7. santa from the clock
8. lamp (zoom)
9. behind the rocking chair
10. on the log (after cutting the leaves)
11. in the bag (near the log)
12. in one of the skies
13. near the bucket
14. carpet
15. outside, in the snow
16. in the bed
17. in the picture (2 pieces - right?)
18. in the drawers (in hat and near the scissors)
19. in all of the present boxes

I also have [spoiler]opened the door, got the key and used it at the drawers. got the clothes.[/sopiler]
but I'm stuck with the puzzle, because I don't have all of the pieces.
help me

20. under the green bottle - you need to examine it
21. on the skiis - just click all over them both (they yield 2 total)
22. in the fireplace - use one of the tools - first you get the belt, but if you continue you get a piece (use hook tool))
23. There is one in each drawer, and one in the hat (3 total)
24. One behind the pillow
25. one under the matress
26. one under the bed
27. in each present and under the bottom present
28. 2 from carpet
update:
29. also under the tree - zoom in the on the bottom row of green

That is all of them - but the puzzle is not necesary to finish the game - it really doesn't do anything - just shows some flowers

Get the bottle (on the table) to your inventory, click so it will appear bigger on screen and look under it.
Look on the top of the other ski (after having it on your inventory)

Use the broom on the small pile of snow, and then get the puzzle piece with the shovel.
