I needed to translate the writing on the floor. It reads (more or less):

(Hint of number of box) as for 1 day, no. of minutes?

EDIT: I just found...I guess it's a can opener of some kind, but nothing to use it on.

EDIT: Ooh, I just needed to play the video game some more. The cause of, and solution to, all life's problems! And I'm out.

so far I have

piece of wood, a white chip looking thing, a piece of string(?), a game(put in game console) and a piece of paper, and not a clue as what to do next
