Damn..i must be stupid cos i cant solve this math. equation......hope my math teacher is not on board :p

Look at the explanation on the Japaneese (?) diary posted earlier. it says 1 = 8 and in the ending of the black book it says: v=4
So it is probably not your math thats the problem.

The code for the PDA can change from game to game. There are different equations, so your suggestion is only one possibility.

i could'nt get the danged carpet wet, no matter how many times i filled the glass up, went to the door, looked down, made the cup big, and hit the top button, i never got wet carpet.

i have everything else so far, what am i doing wrong?

If you have everything else and got access to the PDA and opened file 1 and 2, you should be able to do that, too.
But let me ask you: When you clicked on the carpet, did the small message box come up and did you choose the first answer? Because only then is it possible to make the carpet wet.

i have to have the glass with the water for any little box to come up, it wont wok if it's just selected i have to have it big...

and the PDA is the thing that looks like a gameboy, with the one file in the upper left corner and the door in the lower right corner...

or am i way off?

Chinese character

You have to match the symbols which show up at the wall when the wheel is turned with their order I think:
I: "雨" = rain
II: "花" = flower
III: "石" = rock
IV: "光" = light
V: "水" = water
VI: "森" = wood
VII: "風" = wind

For the carpet. I think you did it right. But after you see the text box and click on the first answer (top), you have to click on the carpet again (try several times) so that it gets wet.

It is explain by the number of strokes in Chinese character :
I: "雨" = rain = 8
II: "花" = flower =7 *
III: "石" = rock = 5
IV: "光" = light = 6
V: "水" = water = 4
VI: "森" = wood = 12
VII: "風" = wind = 9

* II: "花" = flower >>> Actually it should be 8 strokes in Chinese, because the top part "++" is 4 strokes, 2 of horizontal and 2 of vertical (in traditional Chinese it is 6 strokes as "grass" ), but Japanese counts it 7 strokes, i.e. the top part "++" is 3 strokes, 1 of horizontal and 2 of vertical, it is not correct.
