There's a knife in the black book on the top shelf. Click the top right of the page to flip to the back and click on the dark area.

Also, to repair the wires, use the time on the clock on the lock in the room with aliens

rubber band, syringe, blue key, mug and hanger

i've seen a green key but i can't reach it..
how do i use the items?

Click once on the item so they give you the message. Close the window and click on where you want to use the item.

For green key -

Use mug on sink. Use mug on the ice sculpture on table. Use coin on vending machine, use gum on hanger, use hanger on key.

used blue key to open dresser in main room; can't connect wires in there

I think you just have to select items in the items list.
