ok thats what I had at the time also, what does the guy say when you click on the

jesters hat?

When you try to take it he says he doesn't need that, and he "sees nothing special about it" when you look at it. When you pull it, it comes over his eyes and he complains that it's dark but a second later everything is back to normal.

ok thats what you need to do

pull the jesters hat down, quickly click use then the plunger, then on the jesters stick

I've finally saw

the two guys flash out of the screen in the north corridor, but now I don't know where to find them?

they should appear in the north corridor after you

talk to everyone and find the items in the kings room and talk to the maidafter reading them

they popped up like that for me, but I hadn't had everything I needed yet either so maybe this will help
