I've just done another manual decrypt on the new text and got exactly the same as you jase, but I needed to leave 2 digits hanging off the end of the lower stream to get it. I think there might still be an error in there somewhere.
I got the same thing, Kuang and Jase. The ending is gibberish, but it is the only thing we've found that made sense, I think we have to stick on it. The message sais the painting is being HIDDEN at foureightninezeroCORONUAYEHUDRQSDR. That looks like some kind of address. I tried an anagram on the gibberish ending, since there are letters there to make CORNER and SQR (square). Nothing useful yet, but i?ll keep trying. I tried to apply the bifid too (that would be a bifid into a bifid, really wicked but possible), but didn't get anything. Come on, we have to be close
I'm pretty certain the ciphertext is still buggy now..
Sorry for my english, kuang. What does "is still buggy now"? You mean Cryptos has corrected it but still needs more correction? If you do, I completely aggree, I was thinking about that, too. Only that, after a couple of changes, I would expect Cryptos to fix it all correctly. Let's hope that's the point, because the message is giving nothing otherwise
No apologies needed, your english is fantastic - definitely a lot better than my spanish
Yeah, that's exactly what I meant - just using a word usually used in computer programming to describe a program containing errors that stop it from giving the correct results.
I think there was an problem in the encryption stage as the faulty letters line up perfectly so they don't damage the rest of the plaintext. I've tried manually adjusting some letters so that one of the numbers in the pair gives a reasonable result, but I'm too tired and headachy at the moment to have a real go at it.
I'm imagining that the cospl part might be 'costa' in context which would require the following changes:
wow, that's a lot of good work. I can imagine what you are capable of when not being tired and headachy. Quantum physics need a few good brains like yours.
Well, I've started to think we will not go further until Cryptos comes back and tells us whether we are in the right direction, or whether we are missing something we didn't notice or whatever.
I still think the answer is in CORONUAYEHUDRQSDR. Note that the rest of the plaintext is clear, and it sais "the painting is being hidden at". I think it is trying to tell us that the gibberish ending is yet another cipher we have to decode, that the ultimate answer is hidden there.
