I still don't get it though, that hint was also given to me, maybe someone can figure it out...

I now know what to do but haven't got the degree necessary to work Gimp to get the answer can someone pm me on exactly how to use gimp for this level

I don't have a clue as for what to do on lvl 9.
Do I need to look for a .wav file? is 9th referring to a German composer?
The last line of the source is, to me, as clear as mud. Second wave? .wav? Is there a first one?

I've typed myself half silly, to no avail, and observed in despair that quite a lot of you already reached a temporary ending (OK, OK, I only started a few hours ago... )

Any hints more than welcome, as I really do not want to quit this great game.
