I dunno b2pop. That seems a bit obscure. The first link when you google the date seems promising, but the seventh word in that doesn't work. What do you think?

As a general rule, online riddles don't use single web pages to give answers, because there's no telling if that page will still be there in a week. If there's a date mentionned, it's most likely an event that won't be forgotten.

Said transcript was not the only source for the information that was needed, though it might have been the easiest.

My best guess so far is that

'word 7' means the seventh word of something. Minus one would mean the day before that date (It's may seventh, right? I know certain places list days before month). Google is required, of course...

my take on the thing, is that you want the inverse of the date,

instead of being 2001-05-07, think like a non-american, the date is most likely July 5th 2001, which is the day after independance day i believe

The only thing I can add after over an hour of trying to solve it is that

on july 5th, 2001 was a lunar eclipse. The image shows a lens flare or, as has been pointed before, a sun. I wasn't able to link the eclipse to anything, though.
