Tried alsorts reffering to the pound sign, none of which work..

I thought that too, but I tried the symbol and the word to no avail.

I even thought it looked a bit like a map of the UK at one point, but I think that was after staring at it for ten minutes solid!!

I feel like the answer to this is staring me in the face but I've been blinded by the sun.

I mean, seriously it does look like a pound sign, but there's something about the two top lines that just aren't quite right to me. And I have tried absolutely everything related to and every way of writing pound.

And I'm 99.9 percent sure that we are actually looking for a symbol, but if it's not a pound then I have no idea what else it looks like.

I'm stumped. Completely.

I'm with you on this ThemePark. I've tried everything I can think of to do with the pound sign - I've even looked to see if it has any official name. I've tried the Roman for it, and the derived lb, but I keep drawing blanks.

I keep looking at the symbols on my keyboard hoping one will jump out and say "it's me! it's me!"

hi i'm back for more punishment. I just read the thread and i thought for a minute it had a similar shape to the map of the uk but that wasnt it

No, nobody has passed it yet. We're waiting for a hint from the creator, which we'll share with all once we get it.

I'm back for more torture, least for a couple of hours. A shape huh, I've tried a couple of things and they haven't worked.

I am getting a little impatient and fed up now. No matter how much I look at the picture all I can see is a pound sign, but it doesn't quite fit. I wish the Guardian would hurry up and give us another clue. Preferable before I go insane.
