It is allowed to leave hints, but not big spoilers, solutions or links to levels according to the rules.

It's not a question of whether or not it's allowed, but whether people do it or not. I'm not asking anyone to break the rules. Look at the past few pages. There are tons of posts that just say "I'll PM you," rather than try to give small hints for everyone's benefit. I know and agree with the rules, but I think it would be more helpful for everyone if PMing was only used in cases where someone wants a solution or link.

Yes, of course, I see your point as I'm playing riddles aswell, and like to find some small hints, especially if nobody is online to help

Just wanted to point out how leaving hints should work since I have to delete a few huge spoilers and answers from riddle threads every day

So, in short, I agree with your suggestion if people pay attention

i am sorry if this is off topic but as it is aimed at me in part i would like to answer

i agreed that more spoilers in a perfect world could be left....but i repeat if your confidence at making them or maybe u r not english and are happier trying to say things by pm does that not mean we should be moaned at for it......to me they are no worse postings than the endless i have made level 20 or so....or the myriad of pointless posts in everythread.....they are no more helpful than saying a pm but i not see people complaing at them.........and sorry but i have never refused to help any body ever....and i know i have helped more people by pm's than have ever been helped by a vague non offensive spoiler.....i will always make a spoiler if i can think of how to word it so not to give away to much..but if i cant does that not mean i cant help.....and yes it is polite to post to tell them help is on the way.......so am i to understand now that if i cant think of a spoiler then i am not allowed to help no more....or just that i am not allow to post that i have sent a pm.........

Damar, please don't feel offended, as I don't think that this was the intention of Crimsonthread
It was more like a request to all the players to try to leave more hints in the thread.
Of course you are allowed to continue to help others by PM

And now I hope that we can get back to the game without anybody feeling hurt or misunderstood
