      The Rose is the name of a famous theatre in which shakespeare's plays were performed...just shooting in the dark here...

            Oh, I've found it already...and it's fragrance is "strong old rose scent" but unfortunately, not the answer.

            his plays were also performed at the rose...Henry IV being one of them

                          ok, there is a coin called a rose-noble. apparently it is mentioned in Shakespeare's Henry VI, part one, but I haven't been able to actually read it yet...still looking...
