We failed. The mystery people (now they are plural) won.

I mixed sooo many things. Like:
**ck Ba*** -> back
***ar St*** -> star
...


also mixed first and last names, like:

Ja** Pi***
Au*** St***
Ki*** Ra***
...

even did cross mixing (between real and character names)

Ja** Su*****
...

I don't know what else to try.

Use only certain letters.
If you stick to the order of the pic, you don't need to anagram.

i still don't get it... i'm starring at the names and trying different combinations of letters, but nothing pops out
