a barcode decoder actually told me what kind of number it was..and I just thought about the author when looking at 23

I ended up getting 23 earlier before rushing out the door, but I've been stuck on 24 for a while now. Any more hints? I've tried decoding the numbers, sent me in a few different directions, none of them seem right.
