Dead River!!!

Hey Everyone,

Could someone help me figure out the dead river level (one level is with the big phi symbol and the other is level with all the lines and letters)...these levels make NO SENSE...so hlp would be greatly appreciated BTW, I have found the

text that I am supposed to read

but I still don't know what to do

Also Stuck at the Glaring moon.

I've tried every possibility i could think of to say light/white loses dark wins checkmate gameover

look carefully at the arrows they show you what is what you need to read

For Sira Woods:

Notice the numbers on the outside of the mess of letters - the clue is z squared, so... draw a line between the numbers and their squares! You may notice that the lines intersect on certain letters.

edit: btw, thanks to sleepyhead for the help on Dead River (with the lines) it's actually quite a fun level once all the "soldiers" movements are figured out!
