i've never played online riddle games, and i am completely lost. i have no idea where to start, so i just want a little guidance just to get me started.

In riddle games, you need to change the URL (internet address).

So you will have to change the word before .html by your answer

Look for a comment in the source code (rightclick on the page and choose view source); comments look like this:
<!-- Here is the comment -->

The comments contain hints. You need to think about what the answer could be.
Later you might need to decipher scrambled text, view properties of images to find some information in the comments etc.
