It is an American exam. SAT stands for "Scolastic Aptitude Test." It's a test that highschool 11th graders have to take. Thier score determines what kind of college they will get into. If they score high and have great grades they are likely to get in any college of thier choice. If their SAT's are low then they can still get in college if they have good grades but it really limits them.

I have an uncle who teaches Latin to high school students. It is so unused...at least in the USA. I took German, while everyone else generally takes Spanish. Spanish is Practical here b/c Mexico being on our border. Lots of people on the upper part of the US take French b/c of Canada at the border. I have taught myself a little of the European languages....at least some practical phrases b/c I want to travel Europe one day when I get a chance. Does that sound strange--going against the American norm?
