"teleologically-oriented style of realistic art which has as its purpose the furtherance of the goals of socialism and communism"... *sigh* ... how true. It means that workers are a class ta be portrait too, thing is, that kind of work had been done earlier too but now it is a political view point involved. I think it was kinda sad because now a lot of it has been destroyed...

Ya...that's quite sad. Art should be preserved, regardless.

@ Husbun....Yes, you were. I know ya got it now.

@ Simply.....Bye dear!! Hope to see you later.
Maybe but then you have the kind of art that becomes sorta tabu. In nazi Germany for example great artist like Van Gogh, Matisse and so on were banned. In a great exhibition in Berlin, modern art were however exhibited but as an example of "degenerate art". There was only a small portion of modern art that was considered exceptable and thus shown in the main show room.
There must have been a lot of artists who were frustrated by the limitations that was posed on art work, but artists need to survive too. But because their artwork was acknowledged by the nazis it became a very infected subject after the war. Hence a lot of the "real" art has vanished.
@ Mom.....WOW! I have taken only 2 Art History classes, and they were so bad, I never did learn much about any one era. It's incredibly interesting to hear about, actually. So Van Gogh and Matisse were banned because the Nazi's acknowledged them, as well as other artists? I had no idea.
@ Freakshow....Ah..no more Mr. Hat, huh?
@ Husbun... Thanks... (I KNOW that's not what you wanted to say. )
