  • I think it's great when you are in a scientific mood. Because when you are, you frequently teach me things and I love to learn! (For example the information about how much cats actually sleep. )

Not many quotes...only some. I explained in my email.

Well, my day is almost over. It's 11:30 pm here. Tomorrow is my last day off from work, and I have no school. So, I get to relax all day long. I think that will be nice. Just some minor housework tomorrow.

Your day also sounds pleasant. And when you say "school" I know what you mean. I also frequently say "school" when I have to go to class. I don't normally specify that it's a University. Most people can tell by my age. I sometimes call it college, too. Though, I had a conversation once with Sir Theme about us having Junior Colleges and also Universities. I think I vonfused him. And you are probably right, my sis probably has a whole different system over there in Portugal (which is near Spain - see? I remembered this time. )

Though I am sure that school systems vary from country to country. I have always wondered what it would be like to study a semester abroad. My school does offer that....

And, okay...I see what you mean about the typos.

    • LOL, ah yes my PM about cat sleep. Glad you found it interesting.

Pff I forgot about our time differents. But wow!!! That means that you really have a T.A. class at night!!! Hmm yes, for you it's still tuesday. Yay good to hear that you tomorrow don't have school or other appointments. Enjoy your last day of your long weekend.

LOL, so you do the same as me!! Mixing school, colleges and university. Yep I can understand that that would be vonfusing for some peope, especial logical beings like robots.

Nadine would be proud!! Yes Spain is the neighbour of Portugal.

Yes you are right, probably every country has his own school system. E.g. the system from Belgium is completely different from the Netherland's sytem. . (you know where Belgium is located don't you. JK )

Sorry I have to go now..
Amiga I wish you a wonderful late evning and a good class. Huuuuge warm special s for you with of course

Hope to see you soon. Goodbye!!

          • Lili!! Mi amiga!! I was just going to say that I see a "very intelligent, ceramic figurine with the ability to blossom" online.

I'm good. How are you? (Oh, and you got my time zone right. )

            • Yes, I leared your time zone yesterday!!

"very intelligent"??!! Well, no...... I need to enter the alien kindergarden...
I'm squished as always!! But otherwise I'm fine!!

Tonight I won't keep you awake..

              • *feels proud of mi amiga for learning my time zone.* Yup...17 hours ahead of me, you are.

Pfft! Yes, you are very intelligent!! I'm BatCat, and I'll take on anybunny who says differently. I had a hard time getting through alien school, and still haven't felt up to returning to advanced alienish classes. I think I'm playing "hooky" from school.

Sorry you are squished!! *gives da Lili a bundle of fresh juice carrots and some helium* *hopes da husbun would be proud. *

Nah..you haven't been keeping me awake. I stay up because I am a night owl cat.

                Any plans for your evening?

                • "being pumped up with the helium gas" I'm feeling .. floating now!!
                  Thanks dear!!

Well, I don't have any special plan tonight. Just do same old things. And maybe study in da alien school a little.

I have read the previous posts and the topic of the defferences of the school systems in each country seems very interesting! I know a little in your country, but don't know at all about other countries'.

Btw, what does "playing hooky" mean??

                  Comment

                  • *ties da Lili to the sofa* Now you won't float away. Almost forgot to do that. Sorry.

Your mom would be proud to know you're studying alienish.

I agree! I really do enjoy learning about all the other countries. (Just another reason I so badly want to study abroad. ) I have learned a little about Nadine's school, and that's about it. I have, of course, read what Leontien just wrote, but that is just touching on the subject. So much to learn about all the countries! I love it! How is schooling in Japan?

"Playing hooky" is an expression we use when kids skip school, and they are supposed to be there. I don't know how the expression came about, but...that's what it means.

                    Comment

                    • Well.... "skip school" is "ditching the class"?

Okay, our school system... We enter the elemntary school when we are 6 years old and study there for 6 years, then go to the junior high school for 3 years. Those 9-year study is obligation, I mean free education except meals that is surved in the elementary school. We learn some basic subjects there, math, japanese, science, social studies, and from the junior high we learn English as well.
After graduating the junior high, we can choose how we live, either to keep studying in the high school or to start working. But since the salary is so low and it's difficult to get a good job when we're too young, almost all choose studying in the high school, which is usually for 3 years. (Of course there's the examinations to enter the high school. )
And after we graduate it, we can go to the college or the university, as you do in your country. Of course we can start working too.
But I think we can't skip the grades in my country.

This is how we generally study in my country, but there're some other ways to study after the compulsory education.

Btw, Is GH slow now?? Or just me??

                      Comment

                      • Yes, "playing hooky," "ditching class," and "skipping school" are all the same.

Wow!! That's cool to hear! Very different from our system (as you know. ) Amazing how different things are from country to country. Still surprises me. So many times I think we (everybunny) get stuck in our own little bubble of our own little lives, that we rarely think about what might be happening in another country, or what life is like in other countries. We don't even think a lot about other cultures. That's one thing the internet has helped me with. It connects me to people all around the world, and I can learn how things are in their country, and can learn interesting traditions and cultures. I love it!

Well, mi amiga, I have been having trouble with GH for the past 30 minutes. It keeps storming on me. So, I think I will go for a bit, and hope that the storms pass soon. *thinks: I hope my mom isn't out in it...don't want her getting blown away. * I may come back awhile later (if I'm not asleep) and see if it's working properly. I'm having lots of problems with my laptop, too, and it's about to get thrown off my balconey. So, in the meantime, I wish you a wonderful evening, and GOOD LUCK in alien school. I know you'll do well! If you are still on the first riddle of hers, I have finished it and would be more than happy to help. PM me. Like I said, I may come back when I am not battling the storms.
