My dog was a Daschund, and he wasn't very old, but he had a very sensitive stomach, and, somehow he swallowed a metal little thing that affected the stomach walls, and when it was found, he was already too weak and didn't resist to the surgery...

@Doglover--I heart dachshunds! That's so sad... when I was really young, my parents had one that was hurt his back while jumping at the fence in our yard... he was only five years old when it happened. We had to have him put down.
