Guess things have changed since I was in school, we had one teacher for everything in 5th grade, and then got different teachers in 6th

@Crimson~ I'm alive. I loved math and science. To me they are the best.

Every school district does it differently. Here, they start switching classes in 1st grade.

@Skell--me too! I actually liked literature/Lang Arts when I was in school, but I couldn't stand teaching them. That's a LOT more work for the teacher, IMHO.

@Crimson.. I guess it's better that way so teachers can focus on what they specialize in and not have to worry about knowing everything. A good friend of mine is a 5th grade math teacher and she loves it.

I'll tell you the one thing I hated about math was learning how to use matrices. They never made sense to me as far as a use in the real world
