@Iva....Actually...once we replaced the thieving wench (my old co-worker; whom I have lost all respect) with the new lady I have trained, she has been an immense help and she's a nice person. It just shows how little my old co-worker was doing. I couldn't EVER seem to catch up. I'm really lucky we found her...though it was weird training a lady in her 50's - I felt out of place.

Very good point!!! When I have it and come on here, it keeps me happily occupied. Oh! And yes, I'm bringing my laptop to Missouri with me. Plus she has a computer I can use. Though I don't think it's very fast or good. As a matter of fact she wants me to try to "fix" it. I'm gonna borrow Lilli's blunt instrument.

Yeah, almost a Christmas child. As kid I hated it because my birthday was somehow attached to Christmas, and I never had a birthday party. Also, we celebrated name days, and mine is December 4, lol

But well, meanwhile it's not important

Great that she's such a good help! That's how colleagues should be! I know how that feels When I was still working at ING as a projectmanager I had to manage 10-30 people that were all almost twice my age Some didn't take that well, but then I would just pretend not knowing anything and I really needed their help. That seemed to be good for their ego's
I'm glad we won't have to miss you around here! Lilli will happily borrow you her blunt instrument, I'm sure!

Oh, it's the names of Saints - there are one or more names each day that are celebrated.
In Hungary where my family comes from, name days are almost as important as birthdays

LOL! That's funny how you had to stroke their egos by playing dumb! Well, my new-coworker doesn't seem to have an problems with it. She's really smart, nice, and professional. It's a nice change.

@Mistery...Okay, thank you. I did remember they were big celebrations that were almost as important - if not AS important as birthdays. I just couldn't remember where they came from. Thanks for explaining. Do adults still celebrate them?

Yes, it's also very important to adults. Namedays are not only celebrated within the families but also at workplace. The person having name day is given a small present - for women it's traditionally nice flowers (although within the family also other things)

@Mistery....Wow! That's really neat! I just love learning things about other cultures and countries. So cool! I was skimming that wiki article, and I saw that Finland also does it. Well, my *thinks* my....my....mom's grandmother was 100% Finnish. I can't pronounce her name, nor can I spell it correctly. She came to the US from Finland. I know very little about my own family history, and that's neat to know that it's celebrated there, too. (Very few people here in the USA are 100% any ethnicity. I say I'm a mutt. ) Did you do anything this year for your name day?

@Iva...Well, my mom named me from a name in the namebook. She just liked the name is all. But it means "Goddess of the Moon"

Well, since name days are not celebrated in Switzerland, it's only a family thingy for me. My mom invited us and my sister (incl. my niece) to a dinner, and I got some small presents (also from my aunt how has sent her presents from Hungary to my mom)
And I had some phonecalls from Hungary to congratulate me
