thanksgiving is the day that we had turkey with the native americans i think. we called it thanksgiving and all that stuff because they helped us survive and grow corn. so we have a national day for it.

I ahve always wanted to know that and i have also found out what independance day is and it is bad for us really isnt it. 
It is the day the americans and canadians broke away from the britidh rule. Scotland also wants to do that so the United kingdom will exist of wales, england and northern ireland
