This is annoying, I sort of get Mahjong and have identified four wrong characters I think but can't get the other two and have tried all combos..grrrr

Done it by random and panel by door has opened, more codes though!

Could it involve the order of the characters that you pick? note: this question comes out of complete ignorance of the game of Mahjong.

order doesn't matter, you have to pick the 6 tiles that are incorrect.

Bmat is right - look for the odd characters although only 4 of mine looked like they didn't exist in a Mahjong set.
BMat how did you work out the last bit of the panel by the door? I have the 4 pieces of brown paper, and know I need 4 numbers but again they can't be worked out!

The tiles are:

numbers 2, 3, 4 in the first row
number 3 in the second
number 1 in the third and
number 3 in the fourth

That code didn't work for me for the door.

The code for the black box is

somewhere in the vicinity of 25700 - it might be 25500, 25600, 25800 or 25700

Black box code is also different each time but should be between 20,000 and 30,000 I believe, and always ends with 00

I've no idea, try the code again once you have the 4th bit of paper, that's what worked for me

I can't get the 4th piece of paper...I've clicked all over the panel by the door, but still nothing. Do I need to have something selected while I'm clicking on it?

No but it has to be opened after you solve the tile game
