okay...18 has me stumped...I'm trying to think logically about it, but I just can't seem to get it right!!!there are only 12 boots total if there are 6 pairs each of black and brown...so to get one pair that matches, wouldn't it be logical that if you take 7 boots out, there should be a match at least once???
If you have two of those pairs, and they don't match, then how many more pairs do you need in order to have one of black or brown?

The boot level doesn't make sense to me, either. I think it should be three, and here is why: Let's say you take one out and it's black. You take out another, and it's brown. If you pull out another one, it's either going to be black or brown, so you will definitely have a match with three. Ugh.
Unfortunately, that's not the answer. One of the previous posts helped me, though, and now I'm stuck on 21. It's the one with the brothers and the fish. Any help?
