i think i got it, is it the second to none thing? but i don't know what to do from there. do you count the second to last letters in like every second word or somethin?

You mean in exact order, from 'You' to 'Second To'?

With regards to 'praise undeserved' I've been wondering whether or not the word 'box' refers to the playfair cipher. I've tried a few permutations and potential keys but no luck as yet.

In this case, use the advert text itself. The shopkeeper's comment is the clue to interpreting it.

you are on the right track...and very close. the key is to use the quote in the words from the advert.

here is another hint...

stack the words of the advert one on top of the other and look closely at the list from the top down...use the only word in the quote that represents an actual number as a hint of where to look in the list. go to the ____ letter in the word and read down
