Finally got level 32. Thanks, Judyg8or, for the final nudge. I could have sworn I tried it several times (where have I seen that before in this forum?). Still, the Sim I googled in Singapore is a computer science grad student, so no reason to connect him with this game, and there are lots of these places in Singapore. Why is this one the answer and not one of the others? That's the part that I find a bit frustrating. Anyway, thanks for all the tea and sympathy -- and the game efforts to hint my poor brain to the answer. Looking forward to new levels. BTW, I believe the Sim connection IS to be found in the sudoku.

I have posted about that Edward Sim stuff before too Fred.Originally posted by fredFinally got level 32. Thanks, Judyg8or, for the final nudge. I have seen it written that it is just a 'name' not a real person--but the info we get by googling that name comes from a real person....
I am sure the guy would think it neat that he is part of a puzzle. But saying that Edward Sim is not real--AND not a REAL part of this puzzle just makes no sense to me...

It just means that he's just the name of a character, and the character in question isn't really that important. It may coincidentally be the same name as someone real who has a website, and as Cryptos has said, it's a last name that's very common in the place the story goes to at that point. It's like the end of a film:
'Any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental'

So you place no significance for the game on an Edward Sim who is a TA at NUS? That's not how you got the idea for the answer to level 32? And finding the name Sim in the sudoku numbers? Fascinating. I understand that this TA is not himself part of the game, but if he had been a parking atendant at the "western parcade" instead of a TA at NUS the story might have to go a bit differently. I think that that is exactly the kind fo reasoning we should have been using to get the answer, and I only regret that I must have misspelled it each of the three or four times I tried his place of work as the answer to level 32. Ah, hindsight is 20/20, no?Originally posted by kuangIt just means that he's just the name of a character, and the character in question isn't really that important. Was he? I didn't bother reading his profile as I was sure that it was a coincidence. I used the road name instead, using the surname to narrow it down to one of the countries mentioned in the search results.Originally posted by fredSo you place no significance for the game on an Edward Sim who is a TA at NUS?
No. I reasoned that I was after an art expert, with access to serious resources, and would be meeting him at a place with more than one carpark (as the directions specifically pointed to the west one) so it was most likely a large public institution. After ruling out museums and galleries there was only one obvious type of institution left, and searching for it revealed a substantial art department. That's not how you got the idea for the answer to level 32?
I got 5-3-1 - I have no idea how you got Sim from that. And finding the name Sim in the sudoku numbers? Fascinating.
No. I got there under my own initiative some time back, and didn't get railroaded down this path because I didn't consider it significant in the first place. Sorry that you feel you were misledAh, hindsight is 20/20, no?

That's what I did, but I agree with Kuang that it isn't really necessary, though I did use it instead of the road business to finally get where Kuang went. My problem turned out to be a typing one. I really did put the answer in several times, but I must have either mistyped or put spaces in, because my early efforts with the answer failed. Nothing like a little proofreading.Originally posted by PoppetThis is just a thought (like the rest of you I got the answer through lateral thinking) but possibly you can get Sim from 531 if you reorder it to 513 and turn the 3 on it's side. It's a bit of a stretch but that's the only way I can think of!
