I'm trying to think of hints that wouldn't give it away too much...

Argh - I can just tell it's something obvious I'm missing.

It is pretty obvious.. Nothing tricky about it.

The trick is finding the question. I went through every piece of the puzzle until I found the question, then it was just a matter of the correct answer.

I know basically what to do

Make the specified circle, then read the letters around the edge (I think). I've made the circle, but am having trouble telling which letters are actually on the edge and which are just close... could someone please PM me with the correct letters? (I'm currently working clockwise, but if that's not the right way I can reverse the letters myself)

EDIT: I might be getting it... I just got a good tip by looking through the comments on Digg, where I found this.... and I think you go counterclockwise


And tbot, the 1257 is circumference

... the radius should be 200 (I think), which means the diameter would be 400

for those that got the transcripts, they're from CNN...or backwards: NNC....Networking News Cables? Is that relevant?

I didn't put that together, but it works.. Sure, I think that is telling you that you are looking at the correct transcripts.

From what I can tell, the day after this is Memorial Day. I'm not from the US, and I can't work out if the Sunday before Memorial Day has a special name of its own.

Ok, for 23 here's a nudge towards (or away from) the direction of the question.

The only relevant thing about the date or that day is the fact that the transcript is from that day. The solution has nothing to do with a day or a date.

Go through the riddle, and write down each piece of information as you have it. Be specific with everything (ie: ... - Edison Storage Battery Company - Thomas Edison - ... - ... )

I think that is as far as I can go without giving it all away.
